Our Company History
McAdams Greenhouse was founded in the early 1890's
by Albert F. McAdams. The greenhouse started small by growing just lettuce and vegetables, but then enlarged considerably to
include cut flowers after N. Day McAdams took over in the 1920's.
In the early 1950's N. Day handed the greenhouse down to his two sons Thomas
D. McAdams and N. Day McAdams Jr.. Thomas then bought his brother's share in the early 1960's when N. Day Jr. went to
Chicago to teach floral arts, and open a retail floral shop. Thomas ran and operated the Greenhouse untill he sold it to the
current owner, his son David D. McAdams in the mid 1990's. Then in 1996 the Greenhouse entered the wholesale business,
where it still operates today.
